We are proud to announce the launch of RDC’s SEPF Summer Spotlight Partnership. In 1997, RDC created the Squam Environmental Preservation Fund (SEPF), a charitable endowment dedicated to the protection of the Squam Lake watershed. With threats to Squam’s water quality increasing each year, RDC is committed to supporting local partners who do the critical work necessary to protect and improve the lake we love.

Please help us with these efforts! From now through October 31, 2025, RDC will direct all money donated to SEPF directly to the Squam Lakes Association’s Watershed Campaign. All gifts to SEPF are tax-deductible, and during this time, you can double your donation. Every dollar raised up to $10,000 will be matched by one of SEPF’s generous supporters.

Squam Lake Association

The Squam Lakes Association is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and conserving Squam for future generations. Our watershed campaign is an initiative designed to support the implementation of the Squam Watershed Management Plan. This plan outlines science-based strategies to protect water quality, manage invasive species, and engage the community in long-term stewardship.

Funds raised from the SEPF Summer Spotlight Partnership will support water quality initiatives outlined in the SLA Watershed Management Plan. These include expanding our vegetative floating wetland project to help mitigate nutrients and legacy contaminants near stream and tributary inflows, a shallow water quality monitoring program to assess the impacts of shoreline development and developing a septic system and soil chemistry inventory to identify areas at risk from failing systems. Additionally, funds will help establish stream and tributary monitoring and build ground seepage collectors to better understand nutrient and pollutant inflows from groundwater sources.

Please Help us Support the Summer Spotlight.

All gifts to SEPF are tax-deductible, and during this time, you can double your donation. Every dollar raised up to $10,000 will be matched by one of SEPF’s generous supporters.
